Mental Health and Wellbeing resources: Our mental health and wellbeing area on our website has been significantly updated - take a look - there are lots of very useful resources and links.
School bus services: We have listened to the views and constructive criticisms from families and we have put the school bus services out to tender. This may result in a new supplier and potentially changed services and prices for September. We will keep you informed as the process continues.
PE: The Oak National Academy are providing resources that are useful for Years 7, 8 and 9. The timetable for each year group is now on the website in our remote learning section.
** !! ** Year 9 Options (from Mrs Wall, Assistant Headteacher): The options process in now underway for our year 9 students. Below is a summary of key events/dates. The options booklet is available on our website. Further subject presentations can be found here
Further Education presentations: Every morning during the week beginning 8th February students will be asked to watch a presentation from our local Further Education providers. A link to the presentations will be will be emailed to students and parents/carers each morning. No work will be set for period 1 lessons during this week.
Careers Guidance meetings: Miss Royal, our Careers Coordinator, is currently arranging and meeting year 9 students virtually to discuss pathways through the options process and beyond. Please can we ask that you remind your child to attend these meetings.
Parents Evening: This is an opportunity to discuss the progress of your child with their current teachers. This event will take place virtually on Wednesday 10th February. Details have been circulated and are on the website. Please remember to book appointments if you have not done so already.
Choosing your options: A link to an online form has been emailed to parents/carers today. Please complete the form to choose your options. The deadline for this form to be completed is Friday 5th March (this form can only be submitted once). If you require any further information please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Virtual Work Experience for Years 10 and 11 (from Miss Royal our Careers Co-ordinator): More amazing virtual work experience opportunities including experiences within sectors such as construction, energy, engineering, environment, technology and teaching to name a few. Students apply direct but do need to be quick because they can close early.
** !! ** Reminder for Year 9 Vaccinations: Thank you if you have already submitted your form, but if not please see below the link to register your child for the Meningitis ACWY & DTP vaccinations. IntraHealth Nurses will be contacting you over the coming weeks to arrange appointments for your child’s vaccinations. They would normally be coming into school, but due to the pandemic that cannot happen here in school. However, they have sourced some other venues so they will let you know when and where these will be. ** !! ** Reminder for Year 8 HPV vaccinations: Thank you if have already submitted your form, but if not please see information below regarding year 08 HPV vaccinations - any queries please call the number below. If you would like your child to have the HPV vaccination in school please follow this link to complete the online consent form and access more information as to why the vaccine is administered. We have not yet agreed an exact date for the vaccination due to government restrictions but you will be notified in due course.
