Good afternoon,

Year 9 Options process:  A letter has been emailed out today and is on the website for Year 9 parents & carers.  A key date is the virtual Year 9 Parents' Evening on Wednesday 10th February from 4.30 - 7pm.  Details about booking appointments will come out by the middle of next week to allow 2 weeks for booking.

Mental Health Family Hour: This week's focus for the Mental Health Family Hour is young people’s mental health, where Sam and Dave spoke about anxiety, lack of motivation to do any work and the fear of losing someone to COVID-19.  This is beneficial for both the young people and their parents, they talk about things from both perspectives. Please share this far and wide and enjoy the episode. Here is the link for you to watch and share - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2v8aGkxdjcA&feature=youtu.be

Weekly Reflection: It's "Great Kindness Challenge Week" this coming week (25th-29th Jan). Students have been set a challenge to take part in as many kindness challenges as possible, please encourage your child to give it a go.  We would love to see how many they complete.  You will find the challenges on our weekly reflection page - look for "Kindness".

Interactive PSHE: Due to the nature of our PSHE programme our ASPIRE lessons aren't running as normal instead, there is an Interactive PSHE powerpoint that is available for all students on our website. KS3 students will need some supervision with some areas as there are some sensitive topics

My week ahead: Like last week we have provided a document for your child to fill in to focus their attention for their week ahead. They can complete this on their own or with support from parents/carers. Last week it was attached to the email version of this update - this week it is on the website.

Stay Connected: Staying connected has been so important in recent months but also more challenging with lockdown and social distancing in place. With this in mind Connect Monday has activities which will help you stay connected with others while staying safe. This can be used for the whole family and can be found here.

Have as good weekend as you can under these challenging circumstances....

Best wishes
