Christmas!
I love this time of year... The Community Christmas Party is one of the highlights of the year at WLD and, once again, it was a lovely event. Many thanks to the organisers, performers, presenters and helpers who made the day so successful. Photos are here. We will close at 12.20 on Friday for the Christmas break and re-open on Monday 7th January at the usual time. All students will have work to do over the Christmas & New Year break to review past topics or prepare for the new term so please make sure that everyone is doing some work each day once the festivities are over.... We are making use of an online package called Doddle which has materials for all subjects and is great for revision, review and additional reading - so you might just want to check that your son or daughter has their username and password before we break up on Friday.
Year 11 Mock examinations
As I mentioned last week, the attitude of Year 11 to their mock examinations has been outstanding! Some students have a couple of final exams on Monday and Tuesday this week and all results will be issued in the first few days of next term.
Year 8 & 9 examinations
Examinations in some subjects for these 2 year groups will take place at the very beginning of next term (as specified in the calendar). Every student in these year groups should know which exams they have and what they have to do to revise - if you have any questions about this please contact your son or daughter's Progress Co-ordinator (Head of Section) or Mrs Withers, Assistant Headteacher in charge of examinations.
