Parents can apply for places through the Pupil Access Team at Lancashire County Council. Parents of Year 6 children can start to apply in September for the following year. They will be given information via their primary school.
As a community school we follow Lancashire's co-ordinated admissions scheme. The criteria for admissions can be found at:
Lancashire Local Authority encourages parents to apply online. The online system can be accessed at:
Our Admissions Policy is to accept all students up to our admission number whose needs we have the human and physical resources to meet, and for whom we can provide suitable courses, in line with LEA policies as defined in its Secondary Schools Admission booklet. The standard number of places currently available for admissions is 157.
Currently, we have no pupils with a physical impairment. There are ramps to enable children in wheelchairs to be accessible to all parts of the building.
After the beginning of the school year on 1 September, applications, should be made, in the first instance to the Headteacher.
Parents have the right of appeal against a decision by an admissions authority in England not to admit their children to the school of their choice.
The school accepted 162 students in September 2017, slightly above our standard number of 157, 150 in 2016 and 162 in 2015..
